Abdoulaye Goita (born April 21, 1993) is a Reçuecian racing driver who competes in the World Grand Prix Championship for Ælund Stølskapp Grand Prix. Goita won the World Grand Prix Two driver's championship in his rookie season, and has participated in various iROS, NSSCRA, and WSRC events.
Born in Bamako, Mali, Goita emigrated to Reçueçn with his family as a child. He began his career in karting as a pre-teen, inspired by his father, a taxi driver. During WGPC 17, Goita attempted to negotiate a mid-season contract, but despite a test drive for Eelandi VTGP, was ultimately unsuccessful. The following season, Goita signed a contract with SVJ Racing, and subsequently won the WGP2 3 driver's championship, as well as winning the constructors' championship for SVJ Racing with his teammate, Roman Arjenko. On the back of his WGP2 3 title, Goita was invited to be a test driver for GFR Motorsport, a Yeezie stock car racing team, in NSSCRA season 9. He was also invited to race in the first edition of iBen's Race of Stars.
Goita signed for Viska Racing during WGPC 17, becoming the first Reçuecian driver in the WGPC. During seasons 19 and 20 Goita did not drive in the WGPC, due to the Reçuecian sporting hiatus at the time. He made his return to racing by cold-calling Abovian WGPC champion Terho Talvela to inquire about co-driving with him in the World Stage Rally Championship. Goita drove the first two rallies of the championship with Talvela, but did not view rally driving as a long-term engagement and did not race the rest of the season after Talvela found a replacement co-driver. Goita then returned to GFR Motorsport for NSSCRA 15 in an R&D seat.
Goita finally returned to WGPC in season 21. Using his connection with Talvela from rallying, Goita negotiated a seat with Ælund Grand Prix. He and his teammate, Ted Pressley, won the constructors' championship for Ælund. However, Goita did not win any races during the championship, and suffered a crash and a debilitating concussion at the Hapiloppian Grand Prix toward the end of the season.
Early Life and Education
Junior racing career
Karting
Goita began karting at a young age, encouraged by his father. Although motorsport does not have a large presence in Reçueçn, amateur karting competitions do exist. Participating at this level, Goita was considered to be "a notch above" the local competition, and friends he made at the local karting track expected to see him on TV one day.[1]
