The Liga Prime (Formerly, League One Indusse), is the top level of the Indussean Football League System. Administered by the Indussean Football Association (IFA), it consists of 10 teams that compete with each other in the round-robin format and the league topper is crowned the champions. The Federation is on its way to change the operations to a system of promotion and relegation, with teams being relegated to the Liga Deux.
The season runs from March to September, during which time 18 matches are played per team, totalling 180 matches in a season. Lesser number of matches are held on workdays as compared to those of Weekends. The Liga Prime is completely administered and sponsored by the Federation but since reforms are to be made in regards to relegation system, the IFA is planning to open bids for sponsors in both the leagues from Liga Prime's 22nd Season.
Teams from Liga Prime occasionally participates in the tournaments held by International Federation of Club Football and Federation of Football Independents. These clubs have also proven their success through winning tournaments run by FFI.
History
Origins
Even before football was slowly picking up its pace after Indusse indulging itself in international tournaments such as the World Cup, private groups in multiple provinces as well as towns started conducting their own mini tournaments. These tournaments consisted of teams that were based on the locality or some sort of a sports club. These tournaments rose into fame when a few players from nearby nations started to play in them. Some of these tournaments notably, 'Indraprastha Cup' hosted in Hind, 'Linga Memorial Cup' in parts of Salingam and Southbay were able to attract attention from the neighbouring countries. During the end of World Cup 77, the federation decided to introduce a national league for football clubs that will be recognised by the country. The IFA then introduced the League One Indusse, inviting applications all over the nation for teams interested to compete for the championship. The IFA Records states that around 121 teams, irrespective of size applied for participation. After careful consideration and shortlisting, 10 teams were selected to compete in the championship. The Monarchy and Federation offered financial and technical help to the management of the League One, and started to ignore the other tournaments in the country. Slowly, all these other tournaments died off and new ones which were smaller in size sprung up. These tournaments never got the coverage and publicity as they should have. Meanwhile, Indraprastha Cup continued to be held in Hind City where they invited teams in the provinces of Hind. This tournament is bow the oldest running tournament in Indusse, inviting clubs from Hind, Sindvpore and Southbay to compete against each other.
The League continued to flourish for six seasons and came into a sudden halt when the monarchy was removed and democracy established. Change in the power in the nation also resulted in change in power at the federation. A newer management came into being and started discussing the need to restart the League One. Multiple conferences were held between the Government and Federation, until they reached a decision of restarting the tournament with a new identity. As a result towards the end of World Cup 84, the Federation introduced Liga Prime as a successor to League One Indusse. The Federation invited bids for ten teams to compete in the tournament and the clubs with the highest bids were inducted as the competitors.
During the first edition, ten teams competed against each other and Southbay Riveria FC ended up being the champions. The same clubs were meant to compete in the second edition and that was when the Federation suspended Sloth Bay FC from the league for not clearing up the dues and payments to the players and the federation. Instead of Sloth Bay, Sindvpore FC was inducted as the new club. Sindvpore FC eventually ended up being one of the most successful clubs winning ten championships till date. During the Pre-Season of the fourth edition, SNS Territorial FC which was one of the original clubs to take part in Liga Prime was suspended from the league for financial fraud and the club would eventually lose their license and shut down due to malpractices and increasing debts. The Federation opened bidding for the vacant spot and Sloth Bay FC returned to the slot after their suspension and reforms in the club's management.
Over the years, multiple seasons have been conducted successfully with domestic and international players. Southbay Riveria FC and Sindvpore FC remained the only clubs in the league to have won the championship till the seventeenth season. But on the eighteenth edition of the league, Rockies International FC made history by winning the title for the very first time. This edition also saw all the awards getting won by foreign players for the first time.

Competition Format
The Liga Prime operates as a single-tier league and is contested by ten professional football clubs. Each season, which runs from March to September, follows a double round-robin format, in which every team plays the other nine clubs twice, once at home and once away resulting in 18 matches per team and a total of 180 matches across the season. The season stretches from March to September, with most matches played on weekends, while weekday games are kept fewer to balance player workload and fan attendance. At the end of the season, the team that sits on top of the table is crowned champion.
Right now, Liga Prime doesn’t use promotion or relegation system, meaning the same 10 clubs compete each year. But the Indussean Football Association (IFA) has announced that starting with the league’s 20th season, a new system will be brought in where the lowest-ranked team will drop into Liga Deux, while the champions from Liga Deux will move up into Liga Prime.
